Meditations – 10.27.20 Spurgeon Edition

There lived this dude about a hundred fifty years ago named Charles Spurgeon. He was a Baptist preacher, and I enjoy his sermons and quotes. This morning I will present some of his thoughts to you, my four readers….

Yes… you cannot pick and choose what portions of the Bible you want to believe or follow.

I love how Spurgeon does not mince words. These words need to be heard. James 4:8a – Draw near to God and he will draw near to you….. take the active steps to increase your Faith…

How true is that? Amazing….

So much Truth….

The Apostle Paul said this as well 🙂

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

This should strike some people hard (including myself).

And God rewards us with his Kingdom Come… a surefire way to have more joy in your life.

I have only scratched the surface with the Spurgeon wisdom. Pick up your Bible …. ask questions…. you will be rewarded.

Peace and love and joy and Grace,

-mike
