The Lack of Leadership in Whitewater (and masks)

I woke up this morning, got my coffee, took my dog for a walk, logged into work, and wonderfully discovered that the Wisconsin State Supreme Court told our horrid governor to step off with regard to masks. I was giddy until I found out that just a few weeks ago, Whitewater’s incompetent City Council (with a virtual meeting – hiding from their constituents) passed a mask ordinance that goes until the end of June.

This is incompetence on the part of these individuals.

I decided to watch the discussion of this extension.

As one of the eleven people that have watched this meeting…. it took me quite a while to find this topic. I jumped around the meeting, then downloaded the agenda, listened to parts of an eternal conversation on some smoking ordinance, hearing multiple mentions of economic distress due to the “pandemic”, some mention of Fauci by socialist acolyte Lynn Binnie as to why he can’t meet in person…. before I found the mask topic.

There was no discussion. There was the introduction of the ordinance, no discussion, then a vote.

This is incompetence. All city council members voted to extend this ordinance until June 30th. (1:29 mark roughly) I put the link to the meeting at the bottom here.

A few points regarding this:

  • There have been no citations written for mask violations.
  • There will be no citations for mask violations.
  • Many Whitewater businesses are openly in defiance of this ordinance.

Whether it is the school board with Tom Ganser, or the city council and Lynn Binnie …. Whitewater gets the extremely poor leadership it deserves. Observing on Ganser’s and Binnie’s blog (the banner), I have seen so much COVID news, weekly updates to case numbers, and so much projection of fear…. and so much need for control.

I will not say that I will never wear a mask …. my rule is that my job or something to that effect must come into play in order for me to wear. I do not wear one into Walmart, and I won’t go get coffee (Sweet Spot) or go into a place with strict mandates. I purposely go to Rick’s for lunch every now and then as a direct result of their open defiance (and their great fish fry). (I remember Binnie telling me last year that masks would be GOOD for businesses).

There has been a nice call to action with the school board. Tom Ganser has a huge risk with two candidates (for two positions) that have displayed so much more wisdom and common sense than Ganser. It will be interesting to see if he gets knocked off.

But my larger point is the city council really needs people with common sense. Right now I see seven individuals more concerned about the Marxist BLM and Defunding the Police, taking away freedoms (whether they be playing bags in your front yard or smoking or being a twenty-year old bartender).

With Lynn Binnie up for re-election next year …. I sure hope someone runs against him. I spent the first years of my adult life in West Bend. West Bend had the crusty old socialists too …. guys that would sit in the back of Sensenbrenner town halls and snicker and comment. Binnie would not get elected dog catcher in a town anywhere outside of the left-of-center type like Whitewater. His lust for control and worldly fear and accolades, riding the beast, has no place in our lives.

Revelation 21:8 KJV

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

(FEARFUL ….. )
