Discerning Whitewater

Background

Casey Judd is the leader of the Whitewater Unified School District School Board. Judd is up for re-election in Spring 2023.

Whitewater lost 274 students 2020-2021 due to parents pulling kids after the school board kept kids out of school for a majority of the school year. In the midst of this, the school board ignored a survey in which 70%+ of parents wanted their kids back in school.

Parents brought back a common sense balance to the school board after incumbent Tom Ganser was overwhelmingly defeated by two newcomers to the school board.

Nearby Lake Geneva recently had a survey in which 81%+ of parents wanted masks to be optional in this school district. I have no reason to believe Whitewater or any neighboring community is any different.

The Whitewater School Board currently does not have the votes to mandate masks. My understanding is that the ~19% of the community that wants masks mandated is being extremely vocal.

My opinion on masks

An excerpt the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Please take the time to read this a couple times. These are more than just words to me. The unalienable right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, given to us by God the Father.

As we have seen over the last year, masks are just one of many coercive measures by the leaders of, not just the United States, but most of the world. This has been in direct violation of our unalienable right to pursue Life. This has been in direct violation of our Liberty. This has been in direct violation of our pursuit of Happiness.

To put this into proper perspective, imagine this: George Washington and Alexander Hamilton wearing a mask at the directive of King George III.

And to think that they had real pandemics back then, like smallpox.

The destruction of our economy (supply chains, employment, etc.) has been completely unnecessary. The fear that has been placed on our children is sick and twisted. And the total number of non-co-morbid deaths under the age of sixty in the United States in 2020 …. under 10,000. (Chances are you did not know that, I know.)

My fear of Covid, on a scale of 1-10 is 0.000. It appears to me that the fear of Covid on the urban elites in Whitewater is about a 9/10. People like Casey Judd and I live in two different worlds.

My Opinion … Should Casey Judd resign?

Tonight, School Board President Casey Judd, in a desperate attempt to rally support for mask mandates for Whitewater schools posted this on Facebook:

When I write for this blog, and I catch wind of something like this, my first action is to check the integrity of the individual by checking their social media.

Okay, we are not off to a good start here.

Well, there is this…..

Okay, I am starting to think Mr. Judd is a political animal.

Yeah …. Mr. Judd is highly motivated by politics.

Now I am thinking hyper-partisan.

But it gets better…..

Is this the WWUSD version of the Onion? I ask because it reads like satire. Where to begin?First, it is entertaining to see a school board member who forced over a thousand kids to go virtual last year while all the neighboring districts didn’t say “our children need to be in school.”Of course, back then, this school board member was telling us, despite all evidence, that this would reduce Covid transmission. Did it? Well, I can assure you Mr. Casey has absolutely no idea, but I can tell you that Elkhorn, that never missed a day, had a lower incidence rate than did Whitewater.But it did make Whitewater hemorrhage students even faster than it already was: 274 kids, more than 10% of the district’s kids, were shipped by their parents elsewhere last year, leading to a revenue loss of $1.8 million dollars. Per year!Now this same board member is telling the district that masks reduce Covid transmission in kids, and that mask mandates work in schools. As with the boneheaded lockdowns, there is zero evidence for such an assertion, which is why he posted no evidence to that effect.In short, Whitewater reacted in irrational fear last year, gained nothing from it and lost hundreds of students and millions of dollars as a result. It appears that a majority of the board, notwithstanding Mr. Judd, has learned its lesson. Let’s hope it doesn’t forget.

My opinion… Mr. Judd has a serious lack of self control and empathy. He is out-kicking his coverage with his opinion of his opinion 🙂 . Masks need to go away and the people have emphatically spoken. Mr. Judd is extremely politically motivated, as shown by his posts. Casey Judd mocks parents who have come to the inevitable conclusion that masks are useless. I have serious concerns about his ability to make good judgement for the sake of the children in Whitewater.

Casey Judd needs to take a step back. He needs to resign from the Whitewater School Board.
